FUEL is all about engaging families to help young people get to college because we believe that family ambition is integral to individual students’ educational success. We ignite and nurture this ambition in low income communities to inspire youth to finish high school and often go on to become first generation college students.
The three primary elements of the FUEL College Savings Program – saving circles, matched savings, and after-school program participation – work together because they require families to put “skin in the game” while also giving them a boost financially and educationally. By providing families with college awareness, financial literacy, advocacy skills, and tuition seed money, we illuminate their path to achieving a college education.
